Whether designing and building a new structure, or repairing and renovating an existing residence, we strive to apply simple solutions to complex problems. Exceeding each client’s expectations is our top priority. We know that clients trust us to help them realize the vision they have for their homes. We value their trust, and respect their vision. We are honored that so many of the homeowners we work with continue using our services and we are fortunate to have many repeat customers. We believe that creating successful, long-term relationships with our clients is one of the most rewarding parts of doing business.
Meet the Team
George Birk
George is the owner and founder of VAST. His architecture degree from the University of Kentucky lends essential skills to his designs and ideas. Over 20 years of design and construction experience in commercial and residential projects help him to perfect each job he tackles.
Kristin Combs
Kristin earned a bachelors degree in English and a Masters in English Literature. She has 20 years of experience in business management responsibilities such as sales, marketing, bookkeeping, and accounting. Kristin leads the VAST efforts in scheduling, reporting, and organization.
Chris Cox
Chris has been with VAST right at a year. He is a great journeyman carpenter and apprentice tile setter. His eagerness, penchant for creative problem solving, and interesting design input keep him very busy.
Hailey Burkett
Hailey is the web and graphic designer for VAST. Her Communication Design degree from Elon University has helped her build the VAST logo, manage the website, design team gear, and photograph job sites.
Kiddos
VAST also has help from Ren, Eliot, Harper, and Stella — the best kids around. They provide support, laughs, lemonade, and the occasional handy work as well. These kiddos are of irreplaceable value to the team!
